Why England and Wales only
Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own legal systems, and the differences are substantial rather than cosmetic.
Scottish succession law gives a spouse or civil partner and children automatic legal rights over part of the moveable estate, so a client cannot be advised the way they would be in England. Scotland uses Continuing and Welfare Powers of Attorney rather than LPAs, registered with a different public guardian, and estates are settled through Confirmation rather than probate. Northern Ireland still uses Enduring Powers of Attorney, has no health and welfare equivalent at all, and has separate wills legislation again.
Serving all three properly would mean three training programmes, three document sets and three networks of qualified referral partners. We have chosen depth in one jurisdiction over breadth across three, and our planners are trained accordingly.
If your clients would be based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, LifeWise is not the right fit for you.
No small print
How territory works, plainly.
It is a focus, not a fence
A territory tells you where LifeWise will point local enquiries and where you should build your presence. It does not stop a client anywhere choosing to work with you.
It is earned and reviewed
Territories are offered to accredited planners who are actively working them. They are reviewed periodically, because an inactive territory serves nobody.
Availability is not a sales tactic
When this page says limited, it is limited. If your area is already covered we will tell you on the call rather than take an application we cannot progress.
